Bill Balke, Managing Partner

Before co-founding US transact, LLC Bill was a respected consultant at Noblett & Associates. Bill has spent 30 years in the electronic payments industry, holding management and executive positions in sales, business development, operations and product development.

Bill began his career with NaBanco (acquired by FDC in 1996) where he held positions in Client Services and Regional Sales. He then gained product development as well as sales management experience at Citicorp Establishment Services (acquired by FDC in 1995) and McDonnell Douglas Payment Systems Company (MDPSC). While at MDPSC Bill led the turn-around of the New England territory from 40% quota achievement to exceeding 120% within 2 years. He also pioneered the company’s direct merchant sales effort. Bill spent the next six years as Vice President of Electronic Processing for Transmedia Network, Inc. (currently Rewards Network), a leading provider of transaction based marketing and financial services for independent restaurants. While at Transmedia, he oversaw the design, development, implementation and management of a proprietary transaction processing system that delivered in excess of $1.25MM in realized annual cost reduction. This was primarily achieved through the conversion of 92% of the company’s transactions from paper to electronic processing. This accomplishment led to the creation of a business unit headed by Bill that sold payment-processing services to restaurants and other merchants.

Following his time at Transmedia he held the position of SVP, Operations of Momentum, a frequent flier loyalty program where he was responsible, operationally, for the successful start up of this business, eventually acquired by NetCentives. After providing transaction processing consulting services to e-commerce companies such as GiftCertificates.com and Maxian Corp., Bill accepted the position of Vice President, Product Strategy for GiftCertificates.com where he directed the effort to design a web and P.O.S. crossover stored value product. Immediately prior to joining Noblett & Associates, Bill guided First Data’s business development effort to expand the merchant alliance program throughout Latin America and the Caribbean and played a key role in establishing First Data’s first merchant alliance in Latin America.

Bill is a graduate of Fairfield University and holds a B.S. in Finance.
